The History of Underground Housewife
The story of Underground Housewife began with a deliberate choice to step away from the traditional noise and reclaim the foundation of our lives: our home. After years of navigating the insane pace of the modern world, I made the conscious decision to stay home and manage our household. This wasn’t a retreat, but a strategic move to curate a space where my family could truly flourish. By shifting my focus inward, I was able to dedicate my full energy to homeschooling our son, ensuring that his education was as boundless and adventurous as the world itself.
I realized that my expertise in organization, wellness, and nurturing didn’t have to be confined by old-fashioned expectations. Instead, I used that knowledge to build a “command center” for growth. I wanted to create an environment where we weren’t just “getting by,” but actively becoming the best versions of ourselves possible. Home became our sanctuary for yoga, our laboratory for nutrition, and our classroom for life.
From Our Home to the World
In 2018, that passion for growth and discovery took on a global scale when I became a professional travel agent. I realized that the same intentionality I used to manage our home could help others break free from their own routines. My mission expanded from cultivating peace within my own four walls to helping other families and individuals explore the world.
Today, Underground Housewife is the bridge between those two worlds. It’s the proof that you can be deeply rooted in your home life while remaining fiercely committed to adventure. By leveraging my experience in travel and my dedication to a purpose-driven lifestyle, I now help others design lives and journeys that are as meaningful as they are exciting. We aren’t just staying home; we’re building a base of operations for a life of radical adventure.

What I Write About
At Underground Housewife, I write for the woman who seeks a life that is both deeply grounded and widely adventurous. My content explores the beautiful intersection of a intentional home life and a curiosity for the world beyond our front doors. From the daily rhythms of homeschooling and the mindful practice of yoga to the logistical magic of planning the perfect getaway, I dive into how we can cultivate Health, Wellness, Peace, and Purpose in every season of life.
Whether I’m sharing nourishing recipes to fuel your family, tips for navigating travel as a way of learning, or insights on finding mental clarity amidst the chaos of modern living, my goal is to provide a roadmap for intentionality. I believe that being a “housewife” isn’t about staying in one place—it’s about creating a foundation of wellness that gives you the freedom to explore, learn, and grow, no matter where you are in the world.

While the name might suggest a return to the past, Underground Housewife isn’t the “trad wife” aesthetic you typically see scrolling through social media. I’m not here to advocate for a rigid, performative version of domesticity or to suggest that a woman’s value is defined by how well she conforms to 1950s gender roles. Instead of looking backward at outdated expectations, this space is about looking forward and inward. Using the “housewife” foundation as a powerful launchpad for personal growth, global exploration, and total autonomy.
To be “Underground” is to be subversive. It means reclaiming the home as a center for radical education through homeschooling, a sanctuary for mental and physical health through yoga, and a base of operations for a life of world travel. We aren’t staying in the kitchen because we have to; we are nourishing our families and ourselves so we have the energy to pursue a higher Purpose. This isn’t about submission to a trend, it’s about the intentional, modern choice to prioritize Wellness and Peace over the frantic pace of the status quo.
